15 months old

Hazel is just over 15 months old now & she has been so much fun lately (except for when she was sick - grumpy, grumpy, grumpy). She is getting much better at walking & now only crawls if she is in a hurry to get somewhere. She is practicing bending down to pick up a toy without falling down (she has even succeeded a few times!) She still doesn't talk too much, but she is starting to repeat words when we talk to her. Three of her molars have come through & we are working on the 4th. She LOVES her daddy - she calls his name all day long & when he is home she will go room to room looking for him. Her hair is still not growing much on the sides, but at least it is long enough on the top to start playing with. She is a total drama queen when she doesn't get her way and totally knows how to turn on the waterworks. It is so fun to see how fast she is growing & watch her personality blossom but it will be sad when she hits that stage where she isn't my little baby anymore.

If it were the 80's

I know you were all wondering what our family would have looked like if we could turn back time...

Well you are in for a treat...

Better Parents

The other day Tommy & I were discussing the book "123 Magic" that we have both begun reading. Lincoln asked what we were talking about, so I told him that we were reading a book to help us be better parents. Well, tonight that statement backfired on us. We used the 1-2-3 for the first time tonight and when it resulted in "3" and Linc had to have a time out this is what he said:

Linc: "Dad, remember that book on being a better mom & dad?"

Tommy: "yes"

Linc: "you need to read it again"

Well, the book doesn't say that the "magic" happens immediately so hopefully it will get better from here.

Lincoln funnies

Two Lincoln funnies I want to remember:

1) The other day we were driving around running errands and Lincoln was telling me about his (imaginary) Batman computer.

Then he said "according to my computer, we need to go that way"

2) And last night we were watching Cinderella (Linc has loved it the last two days) and while I was upstairs with Hazel he said to Tommy "Dad, I wish Cinderella lived in my world on my planet" - hmmmmm... could this be his first crush???

(I know it was a lot funnier at the moment coming from Linc than it is on paper, but if I don't write them down I won't ever remember them. )
