Kids

Lincoln has been such a character lately. He keeps telling me "mom, want to go to other house (then he raises his eyes to the ceiling) this house buggin me" when I asked him why it was bugging him he thought for a moment then said "cause it has bugs" (we really don't!). His imagination amazes me - when he pretends he is a dog I have to throw pretend bones & balls and he will actually fetch and bring back the imaginary item, when he pretends he is a baby I have to give him pretend binkies, bottles and rattles that he plays with, and if his pretend microphone breaks I actually have to "pretend" fix it with imaginary screwdrivers. I don't even know why we buy him toys since he would probably be happier with a cardboard box and his imagination. I hope he never loses his imagination - it is great!
Hazel turned 3 months old yesterday - she is smiling & talking tons, but the closest thing to a laugh that I have heard is an excited squeal. She is still so small, but at the same time so big. I am actually surprised she is not chunkier since she still eats every two hours (day and night!). We are going to get her 3 month pictures taken tomorrow, hopefully she will be cooperative.

I am so excited that the snow is melting - hopefully it will just continue to get warmer so we can finally go on walks on not worry about Hazel being too cold.

Blessing Day

Today was Hazel's Blessing Day and she was such an angel. She did not cry and she was actually really happy all through Sacrament. She was blessed also by being so lucky to be dressed in all homemade things today. My mom knitted her dress, my grandma knitted her blanket & my grandpa made her braclet.
I think Lincoln was experiencing some jealousy today because he would not sit still at all and kept me running through the church and down the hall until my sister took over for me. When everyone left and all the attention was off of Hazel Lincoln was happier and reverted back to his normal self. I guess I need to learn how to control the jealousy a little when it is somebody elses "special day".
Anyways - it was a wonderful day and we thank all of our family that was able to share in it with us. We really enjoyed your support and your company. We were also thinking of all of those who could not travel and those that were sick and hope you all had a wonderful day. Love you!

Interpretation

Last night was our "Family Night" and I decided the topic should be about Honesty because Lincoln is learning to lie when he thinks he is going to get into trouble. I was trying to explain to him that if he tells the truth mommy will not be as mad as if he lies. Mommy doesn't like lying. So after I said that Lincoln walked over to me and laid his head in my lap and said "like that mommy?" It took me a minute to figure out that he thought I was talking about lying down! I laughed and decided that I would have to re-teach this lesson and come up with an easier way of explaining things to him. I always wonder what kids are thinking and how much they really understand. I guess that is part of the fun when they start talking better and can tell you exactly what they know!

11 weeks old (tomorrow)!

Okay, so Hazel will be 11 weeks old tomorrow. I can't believe how big she is getting. I bought this onsie before I knew if I was having a boy or a girl because I loved it (& because Tom is such a groupie & music lover!). I did have to put a bow in her hair (or I guess I should say on her bald head) today to make her look more like a girl though. Sorry I always post more than one picture, but I have a hard time deciding which one I like most, so it is just easier to post them all! What can I say - I am a VERY proud mom :)

Talking

Hazel wanted to tell her Grandpa Lang that she misses him & she wanted to show off that she has started to "talk" a little bit. She is getting to be a lot of fun & loves to have small "conversations" with us. She is more animated everyday. Tom was just telling me yesterday that she no longer seems like a newborn, she is now a baby. So sad how fast it zooms by!

Adorable Girl!

Hazel was in such a good mood today & I took these adorable pictures of them so I thought I would share them with you!

Independent

Lincoln has been experimenting with being independent lately. These pictures show a hungry Lincoln who decided he wanted to cook some eggs for breakfast. He took the eggs out of the fridge & I am guessing he tried to put them up on the counter & missed. Luckily only two of them broke!
