Lincoln's talk

Lincoln was asked last week to talk in church today. I told him he could have a few days to think about what he wanted to talk about and that Tommy could help him. He was so excited to write his own talk. He finally decided he wanted to talk on prayer and the golden rule. The other night Tommy sat down with Linc and wrote down the talk in Linc's own words.

Praying is how we talk to Heavenly Father and Jesus. In prayers we pray for people to get better if they are sick, and happy if they are sad. We ask for blessings. We say thanks for blessings. The golden rule is to be nice to others so they will be nice to you. If everyone did the golden rule everyone would be happy. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I was so proud of him to be excited about his talk and to take the time to think of what he wanted to talk about, and of course for the fact that he wanted to write it himself (he was actually sad that he couldn't literally write it, that instead he had to translate it).

Of course, no talk by Lincoln would be 100% correct if he didn't try to make people laugh. Unfortunately I wasn't there, but Tommy told me all about it after church. He started off at the microphone by saying "patootie", then halfway through the talk he did the potty dance, looked and Tommy and said "I have to go to the bathroom", so they took a short intermission and came back and finished. Then to finish it off he told me he said "stickers" at the end. Don't really know what this means, but he said he wanted to make people laugh. That's my Lincoln :-)

Awesome! I love the potty break in the middle the best. I imagine the teachers in their have a hard tiem laughing during a lot of the antics during talks.

Way to go Linc! I love his talk. He did a really good job and I am glad that he showed his personality and tried to make them laugh :) He is so funny. How fun that you got to keep Ava and Owen for the weekend. I bet that the kids had a blast. Hazel looks so big in the last picture with Ava walking the dog. I need to see you guys, I miss you!
